Started at 0630 on a Sunday morning. Parking lot was virtually empty when we got there, but packed by the time we for back around noon. Trail is pretty easy in the beginning. The last mile the elevation gain picks up. You really need good hiking shoes with this trail because you’ll encounter sand, melting snow, and rock scrambling. I ended up putting away my trekking poles & using my hands to help me climb up some of the rocks. I honestly expected the rock scramble to be worse though, so if you’ve ever done it this’ll be easy. No shade the last part of the hike either, so I highly suggest going early when it’s cool. Overall, great first peak of the challenge for me and my group!
