We got to the Red Box Picnic Area at about 7:10 a.m. to hike Strawberry Peak and there were still a few parking spots on the side with the toilets and several on the other side of the drive into the picnic area. The hike started out very overcast which made for a very chilly day, but welcomed as we climbed the steep false peaks on this trail. Before we climbed the summit, the clouds cleared and it remained clear for the rest of the hike. Made for some beautiful views of the San Gabriel Mountains once at the top. We were able to see the San Jacinto Mountains and Baldy as we climbed. Strawberry Peak is the highest summit in the front range of the San Gabriel Mountains at 6,165 feet. This was our 3rd peak for the 6-Pack of Peaks. 🍓🏔️😁
