This trail is definitely a challenge. I had people pass me only to pass them later while they were resting. This is beautiful forest and would be a nice place to camp on the way up. I was surprised to meet so many people training for Mt Whitney. I was able to offer advice, having hiked it on August 6th. I made it to the top with only 30 minutes of stop time at 1.9 mph. Not great, but good for me.
