Snowy hike to San Jacinto. The trail wasn't very crowded when we started. We had the summit to ourselves for a bit, and then the crowds showed up. There is still a lot of snow on the trail. We had microspikes, which were adequate for the ascent. By the time we were descending, the snow was getting slushy and we did a lot of post-holing. I was wishing I had my snowshoes. The weather couldn't have been nicer.

What time did you start this hike? What time did you finish? I hope to tackle this peak soon, also as a day hike so I’d love to know your timing! Thanks in advance!!!
Good morning. We were able to get on the 2nd tram, so we started to hike about 8:30 AM.. Because the snow was so deep , it forced us to go slower, so we did not finish until around 4:30 PM. As long as you have Microsoft’s, it is completely doable right now. Happy hiking!!!
Microspikes, not Microsoft. Lol.
Awesome, thank you Deborah! It looks like you chose a lovely day to make it happen! I just got my microspikes so I’ll be prepared if I should still need them. Best, -Angelique
