I got a Turtlehead

We got started at about 6:30am. Hadn’t been there before and missed the trailhead, then had to park about 1.5 miles away and hike back to it…great start for my first hike! It was sunny and windy but mostly cool for the first couple hours. I was prepared for this hike but I was not prepared to make it last 7.2 miles when it was supposed to be under 5! Ended with about 2326 elevation gain and most of that was in 1.5 miles. Good start to my Peaks Challenge.
