We started out early for us – 8 am – because of warm weather forecast for afternoon.  We had to do a doubletake to make sure we had the right trailhead, but finally figured it must be where a couple of rather old looking signs were.  Headed up a road and finally made turn onto the trail.  Shady at first then became more sunny. This hike was basically in two sections: this first trail which ended up on Corral Canyon Road just farther up and then from the road up a couple of hills before reaching Corte Madera.  The first part was fairly easy. We saw a snake lounging in the middle of the trail- not sure which kind but I treat all with respect. After we left the road, the trail became more rocky and we were surrounded by manzanita bushes (is manzanita-whacking a thing?). Long shirts and pants recommended. There were some rocky/bouldery patches where one had to scramble up some steep “steps.” Longer legs would come in handy! Some more ups and downs until we reached the Corte Madera.  Quite a crowd at the top. Good to hike this in the morning as by noon it was already getting pretty warm.  Bring lots of water and take your time – rocks can be tricky to navigate. Views are great.
