Take a picture of the map at the trailhead often other maps are incorrect

Bring extra food and take breaks – Mt Diablo can be tough but also there are great views

I love hiking Mount Diablo. It’s tough be so rewarding. This time in addition to my regular loop that hikes the 6 peaks, I added the waterfall loop and an extra ridge.  Why not, right? Although I ended exhausted, I was happy to explore a part of mount diablo I haven’t seen before. The area below and east of mt olympia is full of wild flowers and was exceptional. The water fall loop was also nice and now I feel like I have truly explored the whole area. Not sure what is next, but I’m sure I’ll be back soon!
