It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.
The easiest Six Pack Of Peak on the list! We climbed 1 1/2 mile to Mount Pinos (8,848’) and while we were at it, tagged Sawmill Mountain (8,819’) too, with total of just over 8 miles r/t and 1,500’ elevation gain in 4 1/2 hours. The climb back up to Sawmill was a butt-kicker with portions that are steep, rocky and sometimes slippery hillside. Both these mountains are the tallest peaks in Ventura and Kern Counties because they sit on the San Andreas Fault.
