I decided to join the FB group Bay Area Hikers last minute. There were 16 amazing people and hikers who made the hike in the rain much more bearable.
The rain was suppose to be light and only last the first hour. Unfortunately the rain came down for the first half of the hike to Rose Peak. The hike leader was amazing and brought ponchos for the entire group. Although it was wet out there, it made the hike much easier. As someone who has done the hike a few times, the sun and the exposed/no shade trails is what makes the hike usually very difficult. The peak itself was covered in foggy, cold, and eerie. The advanced group quickly took pictures at the top, signed the geocache, and headed back down a mile or so to seek shelter and grab a snack. The sun finally came out on the way back, energized the group, and it was beautiful to see all the views we missed on the way up due to the rain/fog. Great adventure and I am so glad to have joined the group.
