Reached Manker flat campground parking at 6:55 am. Parking lot was almost full. Went up the fire road to Baldy Bowl trailhead. Adventure along with pain start from the beginning. Reached ski hut totally exhausted. Push ourselves to remainder of climb to reach top in almost 6 hours. Brutal brutal brutal… but what a great experience in pushing oneself to extreme. Views from top paid off the pain of hike. Came down Devil’s Backbone trail. My partner slipped on loose grave, so be careful and go very slow in first half a mile. Loose gravels are the most hateful part of the hike. Coming down backbone was awesome – views were astonishing. Even if you don’t have fear of heights, walking on backbone will develop it (haha).. Overall doable but be very careful on loose gravels first mile down.
