When I saw that El Cajon Mountain was on the San Diego list I almost didn't sign up. To say I hated this trail would be an understatement. I was convinced that whoever forged this trail hated either themselves or hikers… or maybe both.

But this time around was a completely different experience! I woke up early and started the trail at 6 am. It was a really could and misty morning which I think is the absolute perfect hiking weather! I brought my poles for this hike and it almost made me feel like I was cheating! It's definitely not an easy trail but I think I had made it out to be a much bigger beast than it actually was! The views were absolutely rewarding too!

So to the hiker that is worried about the “up hill both way” trail, don't worry babe! You've got it!
