Amazing views at the top. Short 4-4.5 hr. out and back hike. I personally will never do this one again. All the loose rock at the top almost killed me coming back down. I just couldn't get good footing, and yes I did have a hiking pole. A little bit of scrambling is always fun but this was just uncomfortable for me. My feet came out from under twice and I fell hard back on my wrist…..and I ran into a couple ginormous black flying insects that I swear I could hear their wings flapping like a huge bird. Maybe a carpenter bee? not sure really but I was scared of them. But really, Red Rock is gorgeous and I am always grateful for living so close to get the chance to “get lost” there.
