A hike through mixed forest pines, oaks, incense cedar and jaw dropping views of the Mojave & Southern Sierras from the 9400 ft. summit ,
Mt. Baden Powell packed a plethora of magic in a relatively short, steep but non-technical hike.

– 40 strenuous, breathtaking switchbacks
– hiking a section of the PCT & meeting thru hikers
– a chance to see the elusive snow plant
– see in person the 1,500 yr. old limber pine –
Wally Waldron himself, that is said to be the oldest living thing in the San Gabriel Mountains
– Lord Baden-Powell monument (founder of the Boy Scouts)
– Take a pic with Old Glory 🇺🇸 flying proudly above the summit!

It’s a tough hike that makes you earn the experience but so enchanting, you’ll feel like you’re a world away .. 10/10!

* pro tip – the only two good places to poop 💩 are:
– Mile 1 – behind the viewing bench
– Mile 3 – beneath the saddle
* all other sections of the trail is exposed to traffic
