Another early morning on the trail!
Departed Sherman Oaks around 4:30 and were boots on the ground nearing 6 am. This hike really is the gem we'd read about – and it's LONG – but it's quite a nice steady grade the whole way up that leaves you tired, but not absolutely soul-crushed.
The meadow was gorgeous and shortly thereafter we stopped for a food break before starting the third section of the trail. Not brutal, from a physical perspective – but the wind surely was!
We summitted around 11:15, where one of our party cracked a bottle of champagne to celebrate his 6th peak – number 5 for me! Woo, Gorgonio… looking forward to you kicking my ass.
