I led this trip with the “Sailors Outdoor Leadership School,” which is a program in Newport Harbor High School's Field Studies program.  This spring we were finally able to start running field trips again after COVID shut it down, and this was our first trip back. Due to the shorter notice, we had 4 students out there for 2 nights learning about different aspects of outdoor leadership. We hiked up to NR3B on Friday night, Saturday was a day of lessons, and then early Sunday we headed out for the peak (3:30am) for a day hike. When we got back to camp we headed back down to the van and got some pizza in Idyllwild. All in all a great weekend with some future outdoor leaders!
