Started at 5.45am from the trailhead. Definitely a very hot day. But the cool breeze at lower altitudes in the morning and the crazy wind at higher altitudes just balanced things and made it very pleasant.

The first 3 miles on the trail was pretty decent elevation all the way to the ski resort area. But this is where the elevation gain starts like straight from 0-100 and it does not get any easier all the way to the top. There are ptches along the devil's backbone area with lots of loose rock and gravel. Just make sure you watch every step on those patches. Pretty clear and prestine views all along the hike. Definitely a burn on the legs but worth everything.

It was a very busy day on the trail and pretty crowded at the top; its such a popular hike. Definitely carry lots and lots of water and electrolytes. Start early before sunrise preferably to avoid the heat. We could feel the heat on our way down gradually as we were losing altitude. Took us ~5 hours up with pitstops in between to the top; spent 1 hour at the top making some hot noodles and coffee; 3 hours to decent. Overall an amazing day.
