I started my journey to start hiking the peaks in Mount Charleston was to beat the late Spring/early Summer heat. I heard about the Las Vegas 6-Peak challenge from my hiking group on Facebook. Since I just finished Mummy Mountain this past weekend, I though, “why don't I try hiking all the peaks and now I know there's a challenge behind it, and I thought, “why not?” So here I am writing my story to my fellow mountain slayers. Fletcher peak was the first peak out of the 6 challenges. I loved the experience! There was a total of 8 in our group and some where already familiar with this peak, which was nice to take the guessing out of trail, but then I like those trails where it's the unknown. The weather was perfect that day with a high 73 degrees. There was a slight breeze, which was nice and kept us cool during our trek up Fletcher Peak. The trail was well-marked, yet the top near the peak was rough and quite steep. Worth every sore muscle.
