Well marked trail, a few places with sand slides but minor, got my hand wet at bouldering on the cliff for a second. It was a beautiful, forestry hike. Saw lots of wildlife and of course some bees, but they mostly left us alone. Evidence of bears, or maybe one, producing multiple scats. A long and hard trail, but doable and looking forward at it again! We started early and finished late, but the scenery was worth it!

  1. Mt Wilson via Little Santa Anita Canyon in Sierra Madre. I think it’s also called the Lizzie Trail, but I can’t find anything under that name. 14.5 miles, takes about 9-10 hours. We started at 4 am, but took longer with more breaks. We just parked on Mt Wilson Trail road, no pass needed. Make noise as you walk, a bell or talking, which will keep bears away. The Cosmic Cafe is closed on the weekdays, and the peak signs are at the trail platform for Echo Rock, behind the observatories. Enjoy!
