We drove the 2 hrs to Palm Springs. The tram doesn’t open till 8:00 am so this wasn’t too early and I felt well rested. The tram ride is awesome. What a great way to get the positivity flowing with a bitchen ride up. We stopped by the Ranger station and checked in with our backpacking permit. There was 5 of us (Me, Steph, Richard and his 2 boys) The camp site is super close I think it was 2 miles. So great to get that weight off our back fast and the elevation gain seamed minimal on this part. We set up camp. Relaxed a min then headed to the summit. The elevation gain seamed to start rising pretty quickly the rest of the way. However I hiked San Jacinto last year via the Idylwild side last year and that was a beast. This seamed way less challenging in comparison. Not to take away from this challenge though it’s no walk in the park lol We summited and headed back down to camp. We all had dinner and some laughs then headed to bed. We were up pretty early, breakfast, took down camp and got on the first tram ride down.
