I have been wanting to conquer San Gorgonio for years! Feels so good to finally check it off my list! She was a biggie that’s for sure. Trail was in ok good condition. It disappeared in a couple areas at the top but not hard to figure out. A false peak is always a little defeating but we finally made it to the real peak and what an amazing feeling. The downhill is always my jam. We cruised down but our feet were screaming at us. They could only take so many rocks. Making it to the car has never felt so good. I was supposed to do this as an overnight but ended up doing it as a day hike. It would be sweet to camp at the summit. I know it gets windy but if you can setup in one of the makeshift bunkers it probably wouldn’t be too bad. The last water is at high creek camp so make note of that. This was my hardest and highest hike to date. Start early, hydrate well, fuel well and enjoy!
