Original plan was to take the Forssee trailhead but reviews told me that the trail was washed out from recent flash floods. Starting from Angelus Oaks was now my only option. Last time I was on this trail was 3 years ago, before the fire. I remember how beautiful it was – walking through Manzanita and resting under the shade of trees. This time it was different. It was sad to see the aftermath of the fire but the hike is still beautiful. There is a water source to filter water after Limber Pine campground (about 6mi in).  The stats – 16.6 miles out and back, 9.5hrs with breaks and 30min at summit, brought 3.5L water (drank 3L), 30oz. electrolytes, 2 summit hot dogs, and various salty/sweet snacks.
