This is #11 of 12 and with Holy Jim Trail still Closed… This was a great finally to this years 6-Pack Peak Challenge. Last time I was on Mt. Pinos it was a snow day with the folks back in the in the late 60's… 8:15 am start and the Temp was 58 Degrees (a lot better the 39 degree reading 6 miles away on the way up). This was the most enjoyable of all of them – maybe because it was the last one, maybe because it is less then 2,000′ elevation change or maybe because San Gorgonio was last weeks challenge. We turned this hike into a 3 Peak – 9.75mi – 4:13min moving time adventure. Mt. PInos – the highest peak in Ventura County, then 1.1 liner miles away we are on top of Sawmill Mountain – the highest peak in Kern County, then a few miles from there, we were on Grouse Mountain. After a little lunch, we headed back the way we came. DONE!
