Mount Charleston coming from trail canyon to north loop. There were areas with scree and a major tree obstacle on the way up. The last mile and a half had the longest switch backs I ever saw. I slowly made my way to the peak there is close to a 5000 ft gain in elevation. On the top there is a bunker that can protect you from the wind if it is cold. There are two boxes with books to sign and there is a neat wooden sign that someone donated to the peak. There also is a flag pole up there with a flag. Going down the south loop was an easy trail to follow. Overall the hike took us 12 hours and registered at 17.6miles. Since we were in a group we split our cars at the two trailheads. Bring plenty of water and provisions.
