This hike never disappoints. It feels like worlds away from the metropolis of Los Angeles, thankfully! We headed out from home quite early in hopes of beating the traffic, heat, and crowds, and we succeeded! Got onto the mountain as the sun was coming over the horizon. It was even colder than I expected when we hopped out of the car. Walked up the trail, which is more of a fire road, towards Mt. Pinos and enjoyed some food on the summit. Paid our respects to the Chumash and headed over to Sawmill. Every little thing was just so beautiful on this hike, and the views were crisp and clear. We could see all the way to the Sierras! We sat at the Sawmill summit enjoying the birds and the air before wandering further down the trail to the Sheep Camp and then turning around and heading back. I love this hike and thank the Six Pack for bringing it to my attention.

Any water left at Sheep camp?
We didn’t see any water there, unfortunately.
