Lots of flies and gnats at Volcan Mountain!

We enjoyed good weather, just before the heat kicked in again, but the bugs (flies/gnats) were pretty bad. Used my poles to swat at them vs their normal intended use. Had a great hike and beautiful views otherwise. I would definitely like to come back on a clearer day as the views to the Ocean and Salton Sea were impressive. It was wonderful to combine this hike with a lunch (at Miner’s Diner) and walk around Julian.
