We decided to overnight this one, because of the mileage and well, just because we wanted to camp on Old Greyback. Everything went as expected the first day and we made it to High Creek camp in time for sunset. The next morning, we woke up with every intention of hitting the summit without our 25+ lb packs and then heading back down the mountain, but my hiking partner ended up with altitude sickness and after waiting it out an hour, we made the decision to pack up camp and head down. At a mere 2.5 miles from the top, I'm really bummed that we didn't make it, but I couldn't leave my friend behind and I needed to get her down the hill without her getting worse. I'll be back to conquer this one…
