The last three hikes Iโve been on, Iโve said to myself โwow this is the best hike Iโve ever been onโ. Maybe Iโm just really loving hiking, but Iโll always love and appreciate this one.
Strawberry peak is relatively smaller (elevation wise) and shorter than some of the others in the challenge, so the competitive part of me contemplated trying to rush through it.
I did the opposite, and spent 2-3 hours longer than the average time to complete it. I allowed myself to just completely immerse myself in the hike. It was the first really long hike I have done solo, and the time I had with myself was extremely therapeutic. My pace was slow and steady, so my heart rate dropped incredibly low, and I reached a calmness that I havenโt felt in a long time.
The terrain is a fun climb, the views were great, and time was just flying by honestly. I feel like the benefits I had mentally makes it tough for me to give a physical review of this one lol. I also met some really cool people at the top, and they shared some inspiring stories with me.
Overall- 100 out of 10. This hike made me want to hike as much as possible. Also it helped me remember to appreciate the journey through this challenge, not just rush through and check the boxes.
