The trail starts across the street from the parking lot on the right hand side of the candy store. There a lots of bushes throughout the hike and trees for a couple of miles. The last 1/3 mile or so is the hardest part but it’s not too steep. Trekking poles help. It was a clear day so I could see the ocean and Catalina from the peak.
