We got there before the parking lot was opened, so we parked on the side of the road.
The weather forecast said the high would be around 62 or 63, but on the trail the thermometer my wife carries showed it got up in the 80s.
The trail was steep going up but the views at the top were very nice.
Going down the mountain was slow going because of the steep descent.
The hike was definitely strenuous.
I brought 3 liters of water (with an electrolyte mix in it) and needed every bit of it.
We did not go to the mine or go to El Capitan … maybe next time.
