El Cajon Mountain –

It was a beautiful, but brutal hike I’m not gonna lie. As an “older” female trying to accomplish these peaks before I turn 60 in February, I misjudged the amount of time it would take me and was at risk of having my car locked in the parking lot, so had to turn back about 1 mile short of the summit. I definitely could have made it if only I had one more hour! We arrived back at our car at 3:45 so it was a good thing we didn’t try that last mile.  I’m hoping six pack of peaks will give me this one.

We saw lots of runners on the trail. I’m amazed and in awe of them. Also saw paragliders when we were coming down from the top. An overall lovely day with my son. Panera never tasted so good! 🙂
