I was surprised this hike didn’t feel difficult but just a very long hike, especially the last mile to summit felt like forever. The trail was very nice maintained. We saw a lot of mountains, trees, green plants, and flowers along the trail. We also saw a lot of bees and butterflies, some bugs/flies, a lot of lizards, and a deer about half way through the hike. There were a lot of poisonous purple poodle dog bush on the side of the trail, at about 1 mile to summit. We were lucky the weather was not too bad. There was cool breeze at the beginning of the hike which felt very nice. By noon it was hot but bearable. It was very windy at times when we were near the peak and on the peak. The unique thing about this hike is that there is a Cosmic Cafe at the peak to grab food (only open on the weekends). There is also an astronomical museum, 150-foot solar telescope, a dome, and observatory at the peak.
