Volcan Mountain 01/07

Was a pretty good hike! Temperature wasnt too bad ~40°F and not too windy until the summit. There was ice and snow on a lot of the trail, especially near the summit and on the steepest slopes but wasn’t too muddy, so treading was easy enough with good boots. Felt awesome up at the top, with some really good views of the mountains around Julian and Cuyamaca, even seeing the Pacific and parts of Anza Borrego with good visibility. Even saw a Bald Eagle roosting in one of the large pine trees halfway up the trail!
