This one is always a good workout for my quads and glutes. Started my hike at 6:30am. Cold morning and not a lot of people on the trail. Trail is good up to Orchard Camp. Orchard to Manzanita Ridge is more technical. Hiked through the clouds until the toll road. No snow on the trail but it was cold and a bit windy at the summit. Café was closed but bathrooms were open. Enjoyed the views before heading back down. The stats – 14.5mi out and back, 4800’ elevation gain, 7hrs with breaks and 20min at summit, brought 2.5L water (drank 1.5L), 30oz. electrolytes, 2 sandwiches, 4 cuties, and various salty/sweet snacks.
