The reviews aren’t lying – this hike is HARD. Steady incline the entire way up. The trail is very narrow, surrounded by cholla’s in the beginning, and not heavily traveled. The second half of the hike required quite a bit of scrambling and bouldering. We were thankful for the cairns that helped find a “path.” This hike is not for pets and definitely not for children, just my opinion.
The directions to find the trailhead were spot on! Follow them exactly. We got nice and lost through the wilderness leaving the trailhead but we survived to tell the tale haha!
