This was the last of the pack of six peaks in my exploration of Arizona's Winter Challenge and I would have to say that it was the most challenging and yet the most rewarding. Everyone else's reviews will emphasize this, but I need to repeat it because I don't exaggerate! 😉

$10 parking fee, go get the annual pass for $75 since you'll probably be going to more state parks in a year.

I parked in the daily use lot closest to the Treasure trailhead, and still it added almost two miles before you get to connect with Siphon's Draw Trailhead. Be prepared, especially on a hot day. Oh and make sure you have a cooler with “drinks” waiting for you when you get back to the car. Yeti that up cause you will be thirsty. On that same note, each person should have 2.5 -3 L of water. I know it is a lot to carry up, but trust me you will need it for break and actually on the way down when your legs/thighs/calfs are burning.

Plenty of people hiking up and down when I started at 8:30 AM, so if you want to go “fast/efficient” gotta start before 7 AM probably. I'm not that hardcore so for a Saturday I felt like it was a reasonable amount of hikers.

Tons of gravel so please watch your step. I saw some people wearing sneakers and slip consistently. Footwear with hard rubber soles and traction is highly recommended for safety and making sure the traffic flows.

Bring a decent snack/meal, sit at the edge (or at least what your comfort zone will allow), and just look out and around on Flat Iron. Also make sure to head to the left at the summit to see Flat Iron from the next ridge over.

Don't be ashamed of sitting down on rocks while you are navigating your way down, it is WAY better than slipping because you have no footing.
