We drove from the Maple Springs Trailhead to the Truck Trailhead and hiked 9.5 miles out and back from there. The hike itself is a steady incline, but not difficult. The trail is intended for off roading so it's nice and wide. We started passing off road vehicles and dirt bikers on our way back down.
Saw lots of snake tracks, but no snakes.
The gnats were incessant pests, which kept us moving.
Finished in 3 hr 48 min, which is surprisingly fast for me.
The hardest part was the hr of off roading it took to get to the trailhead and the subsequent hr back down.
