This was our first hike of the challenge. We arrived at the trailhead around 7:30AM. It was about 72 degrees and a bit breezy. It took us a little over 3.5 hours to hike 7.4 miles at a steady pace. The first hour of hiking, about 2.5 miles, was pretty flat and easy. The last mile to the top of the mountain was more steep and a bit of rock scrambling was required. This portion was the most exposed to the sun. By the end of our hike, around 11:00AM, it was around 85 degrees and very warm. Be sure to start out earlier to avoid the hot sun. Also, bring bug spray! Overall, it was a great first hike for the challenge!

    1. Thanks! We custom made the flag with a cricut and created check marks for each peak that we can fill in with a marker once we summit.
