What a fantastic day to hike up to the observatory. Full cloud cover until I got above cloud level, maybe the last mile in the sun. Which is a blessing as it felt like every step is uphill. With almost 5000″ of elevation gain in 7.5 miles it basic is. I had the summit to myself and really enjoyed watching the clouds undulate as I sat and had a snack. On the way down I took the time to check out all the wildflowers. There are still so many!
