Where the ladybirds bite

Road into Carrizo plains to the trailhead is long and bumpy but we were fine in a sedan. We stayed in New Cuyama the night before, would recommend Taft instead, more options, nicer drive.

Caliente ridge trail – long, relatively easy hike. Nice breeze, no shade, a bit overgrown in areas, wear pants/hat. the views are not as rewarding as other hikes in the series but the peak made up for that. Peak is rewarding, complete with marker, box, and view.
