We hiked this trail with our five and nine year olds, a friend, and her seventy-year-old mom! All of us are in pretty good shape, but we were pleasantly surprised at how straightforward this hike was. The views were incredible, especially as we rose above the clouds and marine layer, and got to see peaks rolling into the distance. We went on the five oaks trail for the ascent, which is beautiful and worthwhile, although slightly overgrown. On the descent, we kept it simple by returning via the main trail.  Our time for the hike was about three hours, and we logged just under 6 miles.  By far the easiest of the hikes in the San Diego six pack. Would highly recommend!
