I tried hard to minimize time-on-asphalt with limited success. Took Azalea Glen to Los Conejos up, and it was pretty and view-ful. Lake Cuyamaca is really really full and lots of greenery. Saw two sets of wild baby turkeys and a few mule deer. To make it a loop I took the paved road 100% down and really didn’t enjoy it. Summit isn’t that special either, but it was GREAT to be out. After this hike I proceeded to Volcan.
