Started at 8 am on a breezy Saturday in the low 60's. This is not a trail. It is a road but beautiful scenery none the less. After about 2.5 miles you could look to the west and see Humphrey's Peak! It was spectacular with snow clearly visible. The temps were moderate so the climb up was comfortable. Made it to the top in 2 hours, which surprised me. Took about 1.5 to get down. Temps were rising on way down and not a lot of shade.
The fire lookout employee was gracious and invited us up and provided a brief overview of the area and her duties. The only negative was a lot of gnats at the top. Annoying as all get out.
Overall a wonderful Saturday.
