Totally different experience for Lookout Peak vs Grandeur. We were fortunate to 1) start in the morning and 2) hike during overcast day 3) experience limited traffic on trail. If it’s a hot day, this trail could be a drainer. Trail at many spots in only 1-2 feet wide, brush, branches, and flowers may overhang. Keep looking ahead to spot the trail. Pretty simple to navigate the slow burny climb to the top. We were prepared for false summits but just keep going until you truly feel “I’m at the top” and you’ll see a little stone pile and soak in a great view. Amazing foliage and snow pockets on the mountains, none that affected the trail.

Feedback – we parked on road by campground and picked up the trail head by camp spot 37 through a gate. You can also follow the All Trails app to find the path. Very quiet foot traffic, maybe saw 8-10 hikers the entire day. If you spot a friendly dog roaming solo, it might be Baley. Call the owner (phone on Baley’s collar) or be a pal and take the dog home (lives about 15 from the trail head).
