I started early Juneteenth morning with several other hikers in the fog. About an hour into the trail you could see the sun attempting to poke through. I missed the trail and ended up walking on the toll road which was a bit more exposed in the sun so keep an eye out during the last .5 mile or so before the summit. There were many beautiful wildflowers both bright and pastel colors that distracted me along the trail. At the summit I wandered over to the telescopes to eat so that tacked on an extra mile or so. The clouds hung out all day below summit so I had an enjoyable hike down protected from the sun. About 2 miles away from the car I looked off trail for a moment and saw a small fox enjoying some snacks in a ravine pretty close to me and definitely not afraid. I took a video so sadly cannot share on this platform. A challenging and rewarding  day!
