Got started around 7:15 AM and went counter-clockwise up the fire road to the Notch. The fire road is peaceful and has great views! After the Notch the ski slopes are very steep, but the view of the Mojave from the Devil’s Backbone is worth it. The final ascent to the summit was again very steep, I needed a lot of rest stops. Only a few patches of snow to walk across, otherwise clear.
After summiting and resting I decided to go back down via the Baldy Bowl trail, which was pretty tricky and very tough on the knees. The forest was gorgeous and the falls are still running pretty well, which made it nice.
