This is the 4th of 6 that we've summited,  and our favorite so far! We started at around 7:30 and parking lot only had 3 cars. The start was foggy but then got over the fog line just before Pantoll Campground. It warmed up very quickly after that. The trail is so beautiful, lush and shaded between Stinson Beach to Dipsea and Steep Ravine. Loved the ladder up along Steep Ravine! After reaching Pantoll the trail is more exposed, but have gorgeous views of SF bay and part of Golden Gate in fog.  Temps reached over 90 deg F at the summit. Watch out for mountain bikers between Pantoll and Visitor Center and car traffic crossing Panoramic Highway to get to Old Stage Road.  The last 0.2 mile to the summit is a bit of rock scramble, but you're rewarded with 360 deg views all the way to Mt Diablo! We took the Matt Davis Trail back but the sign was a bit confusing as we had to cross the road twice to get back on the correct trail. It is less step than Steep Ravine until near Stinson Beach.  We celebrated with soft serve ice cream at Stinson Beach along with the thousands of beachgoers from the inland valleys on a sweltering day.  The hike took us about 7 hours total, with 6 hours moving time. Overall an awesome, but long hike!
