I parked on Highway 89 because Bayview Campground is closed. They have a great trail to the area. I started at Inspiration Point because I have never checked it out, and I've been here a long time! I loved reading about Fannette Island and Captain Dick Barter. The tea house history was also fun. I've kayaked to the tea house before but didn't realize they hauled all the rocks there to build the 16 by 16-foot structure. From there, I wandered to the trail but was not paying attention and ended up doing Cascade Falls (first). Glad I went there early because it was crowded on my way out and getting hot. I started in shorts and a sleeveless shirt at 7:oo am. It was a hot day. Once I got on Bayview I rambled along until I hit the snow. I had read reviews on Alltrails the night before and they said, push through the snow, it's worth it. Well, I put on my spikes, but it was so steep that I ended up free climbing up a cliff area and then back on snow to the summit. Great views and a wonderful time just hanging out, tagged both little summit areas. On the way down I found a route with no snow whatsoever! Far easier than getting there that's for sure. Glad I went and glad I made it up and back. Gaia track. Solo hike.
