This hike was a hard one. My hiking buddy and I attempted to summit over Memorial Day weekend, but a big snowfield on the last 2 miles obscured the trail and made conditions unsafe in our estimation. Although we were meeting others who had completed it that day, we decided to turn back. Returning a few weeks later, only the last 500 ft or so were snow covered. This made making it to the summit difficult, but not impossible. Especially with the help of some trail friends. In all the day was hot and hard. The lack of greenery and very little running water contributed to the heat of the trail. I'm not sure I will do this one again for a long while.
