This was a beautiful hike! We went up via Azalea Glen & Conejos, then down via Lookout Rd. Definitely recommend this route versus taking the fire road up. Very shady with plenty of trees on the way up! Lots of cool pine groves. There was running water on the first mile which was great to see. Not too hot in the morning! Some manzanita and wildflowers. Parking was easy and is $10 for day use lot adjacent to the campground. We didn't see any snakes but it is snake season so just keep your eyes open! Nice view of Lake Cuyamaca from parts of the trail. Very fun!
