It had rained the night before so the Ammonoosuc Ravine was flowing! Started after sunrise and it was sunny and cool ! About 1/2 way up we came to a natural pool that was fed by a beautiful waterfall.. Several cascades along the route up as well.. There were some challenging scrambles that required 3-4 points of contact and was so happy that I could do them with ease.. We stopped for a snack abd much needed bathroom at the Lake of Clouds hut .. We then continued the last 1.2 miles to the summit.. Right before we got there , a group of young men sang Happy Birthday to me! Made my heart smile.. Reached the summit with my friends and we fought the Cog Train people(aka cheaters) for a spot at the Sign!! We deserve our photo op as we just climbed up 5 miles to the top! It was so worth it!!

We ate pizza at the restaurant, got a few stickers at the store and then started our return via the Jewell Trail.. Very rocky and boulders my above tree line! Views were magnificent! The Weather gods gave me a nice birthday gift!
